Scope and content
Autograph note signed "J. Etheredge" promising to pay £1,235, 8 shillings to John Noel, Esq., in exchange for the return of an indenture tripartite between Noel, Dame Elizabeth Burton alias Halford, and Etheridge dated March 3, 1689. On leaf 1v, John Noel's order to pay the same sum to Mr. John East, goldsmith without Temple Bar London, dated March 15, 1689, signed and sealed by Noel and with signatures of witnesses (Philip Nere, Andr[e]w Burton, and James Wilkinson). Also on leaf 1v, a receipt for Etheridge's payment dated March 21, 1689 and signed by John Easte, Chr[istopher] Dighton, and Jer[o?]m Churchey.
