Folger-specific note
Folger copy 16 is a carefully repaired copy, with all of the preliminary leaves and A1 mounted and/or patched and completed in manuscript facsim. and/or touched up with pen and ink; [superscript pi]A1 is also closely trimmed.
Port. (on title page) in state 3.
Parts supplied from other copies are: Y, which is remargined; probably c1, as suggested by tear (repaired); c2-6, as evidenced by congruent tears (repaired); k and l1-4, as evidenced by remargining and the redundancy of watermarks on l1 and l6; u1-5, which are remargined; y1-2, which are remargined similarly to each other and as evidenced by the redundancy of watermarks on y1 and y6 and on y2 and y5; and y3-5, which are remargined similarly to each other.
Imperfections affect text on d2 and 2p1, slightly on A3, E2, 2f2, and 2h2, and very slightly on C6.
Leaves 3a2-3d3 are consistently wormed, except 3b1, which (inlaid) is supplied from another copy. The cited worming slightly or very slightly affects text passim. Leaves 3c6-3d3 are remargined or only extended or extended and patched.
Leaf 3d4 is wanting; supplied in photo-facsim.
