Lacks leaves 2O6 (blank), [****]7, and [****]8 (blank); leaf Y3 torn, affecting signature, and leaf 2L1 damaged, affecting text; leaf g2 (signed h2) misbound after leaf g6; leaf g5 misbound after leaf h4. A few early manuscript notes in brown ink in several hands, with underlining. Early handwritten inscriptions on title page: "Pret: 17s."; "Gulielmus Johnsonn me inretenet", "John Richardson", and "Robert Tomlison"; another handwritten inscription on front pastedown, defaced "J. Nicholls"; pictorial bookplate "Sir John Smith, Bart.", with coat of arms and motto "Semper fidelis". In a later calf binding. Purchased in 1928 according to Mrs. Folger's files.
