Large initials provided in red and blue throughout the book.
Extensive early manuscript notes in brown ink throughout, in inner and outer margins, with some notes of commentary; manicules, brackets (some figurative), markings and a few drawings; book numbers added by hand in headlines; manuscript numbering of leaves, leaves c1-2e2 reading "1-251".
Bookplate of W.T. Smedley; purchased in 1924.
In a later calf binding, repaired several times; edges stained red.
