Initials in alternate red and blue with purple, red, or brown penwork infill; paragraph marks, also in alternate red and blue throughout the book. Numerous manuscript finding notes, with some commentary notes, in different brown inks, ending in gathering [i], using many manicules and brackets; manuscript headlines ending in gathering [k]; manuscript numbers 1-26 at foot of verso of last leaf of each gathering. Inscription at head of leaf a1, defaced, partially illegible: "Iste liber est ad vsu[m] Fris [...?] ordinis Mino[rum]"; handcolored coat of arms at head of leaf b7r with initials (repeated) "I.V."; a few notes in Italian and Latin on verso of last leaf, and name repeated in different monogammatic designs "Ivlivs Virgines [?]" Green morocco binding, gold tooled (R. Storr); possible evidence of a tab on leaf [k]1. Monogram label of Sir John H.
