Large initials rubricated in interlocking red and blue with red penwork infill on leaves a1r and a3v; smaller initials and paragraph marks in alternate red and blue; capital strokes in red; lexicon of Hebrew names rubricated in red only; some green in initial on leaf x1v. Manuscript notes (some vertical between the columns of text) in several hands, and underlining, in brown ink; the name of each Book has been added by hand with flourishes, at the foot of the 1st p. of most of the Books; also some Verses numbers have been added by hand, mostly in the New Testament; manuscript sequences of foliation reading 1-337 (no. 178 repeated in numbering), and 1-84 (for Old and New Testament), have been superseded and corrected by another hand, to read 1-469 (including lexicon of Hebrew names). Unidentified coat of arms (gules, 2 embattled and counter-embattled lines argent) on leaf a1r, repeated on leaf 11 1r, both defaced; clipping (from the title page of a printed book?) bearing arms, name and titles of Joannes Robertus Caimo, Bishop of Bruges, pasted on front pastedown, and manuscript note: "Ex bibliotheca R. D. de Caimo Episcopo brug: Biblia in usum S: dewind Transiit a[nn]o=1776" also on front pastedown; another inscription on same pastedown reads "C.H. DeNos"; manuscript note "Zie myne Catalogus no. 129a", and a set of bibliographical notes, signed, "J[?]van[...?]" on front free endpaper. Later acid-mottled calf binding with printed fragments under pastedowns; evidence of finding tabs at the beginning of most of the Books; repaired; in a tailored box. Purchased in 1914.
