Capitals and paragraph marks added in alternate red and blue; capitals have red penwork infill; underlining of the 1st words of each paragraph, also in alternate red and blue paint. Early manuscript finding notes in margins; some corrections in text. Remain of a small manuscript fragment in German used as guard in gathering s from a previous binding; number "2714" handwritten on leaf a2r; rebound; in a tailored box with portfolio containing 3 endpapers, 1 marbled paper from previous cover and 1 encapsulated news article. Bookstamps on leaf a2r "Soc. Reg. Lond ex dono Henr. Howard Norfolciensis", and on leaf 28 8r. "Roy. Soc. sold"; bookplate "Nullius in verba" of the Royal Society of London; bookplates of Assheton Pownall, F.S.A., and of W.T. Smedley; purchased in 1924.
