Folger-specific note
Fragment contains: Book 14, ch. 15-pt. of 17; pt. of 21-pt. of 26; book 15, pt. of ch. 5-pt. of ch. 8, pt. of ch. 11-pt. of 13; book 7, ch. 17-35; book 8, ch. 1-pt. of 7; book 16, pt. of ch. 34-ch. 43; book 17, ch. 1-pt. of ch. 9. This fragment is identifiable as the 1468 ed. through comparison with the 1470 ed. which is in a different setting; chapter headings have been left to the rubricator whereas in the 1470 ed. the headings are printed; BM 15th cent. does note in the description of IC.17140 (v. IV, p. 9) that with only one exception, works from this press that lack printed headings appeared prior to 1470. A few letters unevenly printed have been filled in by hand in the 1st pt. of chapter 9 of book 17. Some leaves previously repaired and outer margins added; some mold damage; in a tailored box. Bookplate of W.T. Smedley; purchased in 1924. With: Jerome, Saint. Epistolarum pars secunda. [Rome : Georg Lauer, 5 April 1479]
