Perhaps, with the Straw and chaff, and a little higher Average, as a very Sensible Miller and Farmer there said; the whole of the Gleanings might be worth 100l.

"By appeal to the Lords from the judgment of Com. Pleas, 11 June 1788, it is probable, they would allow the ancient necessary custom of gleaning, and get an act to restrain, by punishments, the known abuses and enormities of the present practice.".
