One of the earliest attempts to photograph an old book. Leaves are actual photographs (salted paper prints). Text on one side of leaf only. Faded to illegibility in some places (a condition noted as early as 1887, see Catalogue of the Works of William Shakespeare...in the Barton Collection of the Boston Public Library).
Photographic facsimile of the copy of STC 13074 then owned by Halliwell-Phillips, and later acquired by the British Museum (now British Library shelfmark C.34.l.10).
