From auction description: "1676 Entire letter from Thomas Cowley in Chichester, addressed “To John Moore Esq at Sr Robert Clayton in the Old Jurey near Cheapside in London”, charged 2d, with “MA/4” Bishop Mark. Also a 1700 letter to Moore in London with a long reply in Moore’s handwriting on the reverse. Clayton was Lord Mayor of London in 1679-80 and Moore was Lord Mayor in 1681."
