Competing nos., printed variously by John Clowes and Robert Ibbitson appeared between 31 Mar. and 7 Apr. 1648. On the first of these, Numb. 65 (24-31 Mar.), a statement above the imprint reads: "I have now contracted with Robert Ibbitson ... for the well printing of the Occurrences ... for this present yeare 1648. ... March 30. Imprimatur Gil. Mabbett. Luke Harruney Cleric"; John Clowes printed an issue on this same date mis-numbered "64". Each printer produced an issue for the week following; R. Ibbitson's containing an attack on the Clowes publication.
Imprints for nos. 67-145 indicate that Ibbitson and Clowes resolved their competition by sharing the printing, their initials and names appearing first on alternate issues; Numb. 67 reads: Printed at London by R. I. for Robert Ibbitson & John Clowes.
