"Narrative of an Englishman who had suffered fifteen months' imprisonment in Paris at the Conciergerie and Luxembourg prisons during the period of the firts terror... The authorship of the account is a matter of uncertainty, but judging from the fact that is was found among the archives of the codrington family, and that Sir William Codrington, the third baronet, is known to have been in France at the time of the terror, it seems probable that this gentleman was the writer of the narrative."--p. 1.
