Manuscript note on preliminary leaf. Tipped in on the verso of that leaf is a typewritten letter by Walter Savage Landor to Arthur Clifford with notes on the work. A separate piece of paper tipped in on the same leaf reads "The Athenaeum, August 31st, 1901." Rear pastedown has stamp: Marcel Blancheteau.
