Summary
Head-and-shoulders portraits of popes within triple-line borders cut on the side grain of prepared printing blocks. Used in for at least two editions of Alfonso Chacón, Vitae et res gestae pontificum Romanorum et S. R. E. Cardinalium printed in Rome, namely "Typis Vaticanus" [The Vatican press] 1630 and "Philippi et Ant. De Rubeis" [Filippo and Antonio De Rossi] 1677.
