From dealer's description: "[SHAKESPERE]. Rusconi, Carlo (Trans.). Il Re Enrico Ottavo Dramma Di Shakspeare. Firenze i.e. Florence: Successori Le Monnier, 1880. 8vo, 18.5cm, 226p., engraved printers monogram to title. Original salmon pink wrappers (slightly dusty), flat spine (small loss to paper covering at crown & foot), upper wrapper titling within single rule frame with decorative corner ornaments, pencil number to lower wrapper tip & small circular paper label at foot. Rusconi, in his preface, states that is believed that the work was written in 1612 and offered here as a dual language Italian translation of Shakespeare’s play written with John Fletcher, Henry VIII. The play appeared under the title of All is True until its appearance in the Shakespeare first folio of 1623. It was during a performance of this play that the original Globe Theatre caught fire and was raised to the ground. It is the stated “Ottava” edition, yet no copies of any edition appear to be located in the online union catalogues. Ref: 2634."
