Scope and content
Kinglake writes that William showed the letter containing news of Charles Kean's death. Offers condolences, also relief that his long suffering is over. Reassures Kean that his fame will live forever for his tragic characters and extreme refinement of mind. Many people are upset, especially Lloyd Jones. They have recently buried Admiral Powell, who also suffered from heart disease. Kinglake will be visiting London next month and hopes to see Ellen.
Note
Recto has red crest with bird and motto NON DEGENER.
