Parts 1-2 of four. Part 1, dated Oxford, 18 April 1648, "was certainly by Dr. Thomas Barlow" (Madan). The second part, "A letter from Oxford" (caption title), dated Oxford, 17 April and signed "Basilius Philomusus", "is generally ascribed to Thomas Pierce, ... who certainly wrote the third and fourth parts of Pegasus under the same pseudonym" (Madan).
A satrical account of the visitation of the new chancellor, the Earl of Pembroke.
Actual place of publication from Madan.
The first leaf bears verses on verso.
"A letter from Oxford" (caption title) begins new pagination on B2r.
The last leaf is blank.
Annotation on Thomason copy: "Aprill. 29 1648".
