"No full description is here given of a mass of documents of the sort which naturally finds a place in a capitular collection of muniments,--accounts, receipts, records of installations, terriers, charters affecting property, and the like,--unless for special reasons. All that is attempted is to select those documents which from their antiquity have a claim to a more than local importance and those which on any other account may be considered of general interest."--p. 338.
