Folger-specific note
Purchase made possible by The Roger T. and Peggy M. Simonds Acquisitions Fund. From dealer's description: "(London ?, 1694) Broadside, very large folio, fine woodcut initial letter, docketed, printed one side as issued, has been folded. Sir John Maynard (1602-1690) English Lawyer and Politician, and Keeper of the Great Seal of England. Upon his death four wills were found in his house, the final one dated 1689 with a Codicil added just three months before his death on the 10th October 1690, and dated 10th July 1690. The wills were so complicated that to settle the disputes to which they gave rise a Private Act of Parliament was passed in 1694. Not in Wing. No copy traced." Ordered from: A. R. Heath Rare Books, D 9253, 2018-11-13, email inquiry, ref. no. 16871.
