The Winter's tale wrapped in a manuscript deed
Bookseller's catalog copy in enclosure: The Winter's Tale. The original 14 leaves extracted from the first folio of 1623 (pp.277-303) somewhat stained, but sound and large copy, fol., bound in a vellum wrapper forming part of an indenture of 1715. Evidently an acting copy. Written in one margin is "Spring Wigneoll(?) his book 1739." On end wrapper "The winter's tale no: 4". The indenture used for cover relates to the messuage of Butlers at Ravensfield in Suffolk, then in the possession of Roger Golding: mentioning Henry Nash of Ipswich : date 1715 : witnesses Nath. Burrage, Good. Clarke.
