Dealer's description: A wonderfully interesting manuscript with directions on how to make and understand celestial and terrestrial globes followed by a large section of various culinary, medicinal, and household recipes. The section on globes starts with a discussion of the six greater and four lesser circles; then there is a section on the delineations and figures drawn on a globe (mention is made of Tycho Brahe); discussions are included about the various constellations, planets, and the sun; of the longitude on the celestial globe; and a general description of a terrestrial globe (“It is a round or spherical body, representing the form of the Earth and Waters...”). The Notes upon both Globes Celestial & Terrestrial occupies the first twenty-eight pages of the manuscript.
