Note
From dealer's description: "Containing the text of two letters dated 8 and 25 October 1591, the content concerns a galleon of Patti's bound for London laden with muscat wine, currants, and aniseed from Crete. Corsini remarks that the currants and aniseed will find a ready market and make a good profit. However, finding a return cargo to Venice for the ship will prove more difficult, with Corsini noting that he will not be able to promise anything on account of the prohibition on the export of grain introduced recently in a strict proclamation published at the order of Queen Eizabeth I. Corsini hopes that the present good harvest might lead to the export restrictions being lifted in November. Other details concern discussion of a shipment of 140 barrels of caviar, and financial matters, including the reckoning of accounts with the Strozzi family."
