William Arden, son of Thomas Arden amd Mary Ann Massey, was born in 1836 in Kinderton-cum-Hulme, Cheshire, England. He married Hannah Arden, daughter of Richard Arden and Lydia Hulme, in 1862 in Wistaston, Cheshire, England. He died in 1935 in Victoria, British Columbia. Traces his ancestors in England to the 29th generation.
