Summary
A set of four numbered prints after designs by Francis Barlow representing the four continents (Europe, Asia, Africa, America) with animals. The prints were advertised in John Overton's catalogue of 1672 as "The four quarters of the World." Parthey attributed the set to Wenceslaus Hollar; however, Pennington lists them as "not by Hollar," and they are now thought to be the work of Richard Gaywood.
