One of four prints depicting scenes from 1 Samuel 25, after designs by Maarten de Vos.
Prints were included in Gerard de Jode's Thesaurus sacrarum Historiarum veteris et novi Testamenti, Antwerp, 1585. Later published by Claes Jansz. Visscher in Theatrum biblicum (1639, 1643, and 1674) and Grooten figuer-bibel (1646). An engraved cartouche appears in the second edition of 1639.
