Summary
Notebook in two sections: (1) Alphabetical headings (1r-29r) of symptoms and diseases, each with a list of the medicaments used in treatment (copied in part from a prepublication manuscript of Robert Lovell's Panzoologicomineralogia), plus a few miscellaneous notes from Thomas Willis, William Conyers, and Stephen Toone. (2) Diary and miscellaneous entries (32r-139v), including notes on European history and topography, on nonconformism and the church, on genealogy (including some epitaphs in Warwick), a note of the receipt of certain tithes. The second section also contains notes on mercury, sulphur, and salt (including references to William Harvey), and in 1679 Ward recorded a number of physiological theories extracted from Willis.
