Though in the main a reprint of the 1705 quarto, a stage version, from which the wording of the title was taken, this is an edited text that cannot be classed as a stage version (Folger card catalog).
There exist three editions of the 1724 Othello: this original edition 'A', and two later editions, cataloged separately: edition 'B', a pirated line-by-line reprint of 'A'; and edition 'C', which has different settings of type and ornaments. In editions 'A' and 'B', the final ornament on p. 96 depicts two nudes sitting on an urn; in 'C', it is a shield with two birds on top. In editions 'A' and 'C', "Poulson" falls underneath "John$Dar" in the imprint (where $ symbolizes a space); in edition 'B', "Poulson" falls underneath "$John$Da". (See Dawson, G.E. Studies in bibliography, 1 (1948-1949): 47-58).
