Receipt in the hand of W.H. Ireland. Acknowledges £9 received of James Caulfield. Receipt mounted on verso of manuscript copy of John Irving's obituary (from Gentleman's Magazine - January 1846). A newspaper clipping that focuses on Ireland's forgeries is also attached. Also, another leaf to which two items have been attached: a newspaper clipping from The London Chronicle, April 2-5, 1796 (concerning the first performance of Vortigern and the questions about its authenticity) and an aquatint portrait of W.H. Ireland, "Drawn from the Life and Etch'd. by Silvester Harding, 1798."
