There exist three virtually identical issues of the Poems written by Shakespear, published for Bell in 1774, with different settings of type. The issues can initially be distinguished by pagination, and by points on leaves B1 and L3. This is one of two issues with continuous pagination to p. 29; a third issue exists with continuous pagination to p. 36. In this issue, the leaves measure approximately 19 cm high; leaf L3 is signed and correctly printed [page] 173; and there is a catchword on leaf B1. In the other issue with continuous pagination to p. 29, the leaves measure approximately 20 cm high; leaf L3 is unsigned and misprinted [page] '195'; and leaf B1 has no catchword.
