Note
Collection chiefly composed of materials assembled by Hollis Thoms related to his studies of and compositions inspired by early modern literature, including William Shakespeare and John Milton. Also includes materials on composer John Liptrot Hatton, literary scholar and composer Richard Simpson, and poems and compositions by Paul Edmonson and Garth Baxter.
Thoms' "O, know, sweet love, I always write of you" premiered on February 13, 2016 at the Joy Reigns Lutheran Church in Edgewater, Maryland. His "Adam and Eve" premiered on November 3, 2019 at Christ Lutheran Church Inner Harbor in Baltimore, Maryland, as part of the "Bach in Baltimore" 2019-2020 season.
The facsimiles of Simpson's manuscripts may not be reproduced without permission of the British Library.
The book "Richard Simpson, scholar and composer of Shakespeare's Sonnets" and CD "Sonnet settings by Richard Simpson" may not be reproduced without permission from the author until 2020. Until then, up to 20 pages of the book may be reproduced for study use only.
