Based on Modjeska's letters, memoirs, biographies and interviews with scholars and descendents, the stylized documentary tells the story Modjeska's journey from Poland to California, where she became one of the most popular stage actresses of the nineteenth century. The documentary features Modjeska's home in Orange County, California, known as the "Forest of Arden."
