Inscription: Presented to Miss Clara Barton by her friend M.S. Kittinger, in remembrance of the many valuable services rendered to the sick and wounded at the Flying Hospital 10th Army Corps in front of Richmond, V.A., Lockport, Feb. 22, 1865. Goatskin binding, with blind and gold tooling; gilt edges. Calling card of M.S. Kittenger M.D. laid in. Bookplate: "... At Miss Barton's death the book became the property of her associate in Red Cross work, Dr. Julian B. Hubbell, after whose death it was presented to the Folger Shakespeare Library by his niece, Miss Rena D. Hubbell.
