Summary
Oval self- portrait of Esther Inglis, half length, with a table in front of her. She holds a pen in her right hand; the book in which she writes reads "De l'Eternel le bien. De moi le mal, ou rien." To the viewer's right, another book containing musical notation.

Below, Inglis' copy of Latin lines in her commendation by Andrew Melville entitled In Psalmos Davidis Estherae Inglis (cuius effigiem hic vides) manu descriptos, beginning "Si mihi mens, tibi quae manus est, ego pingere tentem."
Place of production and date from former host item, which is dated Lislebourg, 1599.
