Provenance: Drawing has been glued to a page which has then been tipped in after p. 16 of volume 13 of an extra illustrated copy of the Works of Shakespeare, 1881 edition, edited by Staunton. For complete information on the volume and its provenance see entry for "Anonymous. Shakespeare's Crest."
Subject: Item depicts two soldiers, one leaning on a fortress, both looking out, presumably from the Tower of London at the River Thames with numerous boats on it. A bridge can be seen to the left. Item is tipped into a volume of King Henry VI, pt. 1 at the beginning of act I, sc. 3 and may be an illustration of this scene.
