Note
Artist: It is very likely that the first two items were executed by the same artist. They have similar borders and labels and seem to show the same degree of artistic skill. The third item may be by a different artist; though drawn in the same basic style it shows a greater concentration on detail. Items are grouped together here more for convenience of subject matter than for assurance of authorship.
Provenance: Items have been added to an extra-illustrated copy of Mackenzie's Newcastle-upon-Tyne. For volume and provenance information see main entry for "Anonymous. Newcastle eccentrics."
Subject: Items, according to their labels, represent the following religious buildings: St. Andrews Church, Newcastle; Interior of St. Thomas's Chapel, Tyne Bridge end, Newcastle-upon-Tyne; Brunswick Place Chapel, Newcastle on Tyne.
This record contains unverified data from old cards and may contain incorrect or incomplete text. Please consult Curator for assistance.
Title is devised, each item being labeled with the church it represents. None of the drawings are signed. The first two were executed directly onto the sheet of paper which is now tipped into the volume. The third item has been glued onto a sheet of paper. There are penciled notes on the verso of the glued item which cannot be read in its present state.
