Note
Provenance: Item has been glued to p. 108 of the 18th volume of a 36 volume extra illustrated edition of Shakespeare. The drawing has been added to the text of Romeo and Juliet. For further information on volume and provenance see entry for "VanAssen, Benedictus Antonio. Three hooded figures."
Subject: Juliet is pictured, facing front, with brown/black hair, wearing a yellow dress. The style of the dress seems to be from the early nineteenth century. The portrayal does not seem to match any of the portraits of actresses playing Juliet in the FSL loose file of engravings.
This record contains unverified data from old cards and may contain incorrect or incomplete text. Please consult Curator for assistance.
Title from pencil note below drawing. The paper on which the drawing was executed was at one time folded. Unsigned.
