Portrays boaters on the river and figures playing along the shore, castle in the background. Unsigned.
Artist: Artist identification is taken from a print of the same design located on another page in the volume. Print names the designer as W. Harvey, del.
History: Work was engraved by T.A. Prior and published in London by Charles Knight in 1818 presumably for the Windsor section of The land we live in.
Provenance: Item has been added to a volume which is described by a bookseller's catalog entry glued to the book's flyleaf as 'Knight's Land We Live In : the Chapters on Stratford-on-Avon, Windsor, with Shakespeare's Merry Wives of Windsor, and Edinburgh ... used by Charles Knight when visiting the respective places, and bought at his death by Charles Dickens, whose Library Label it contains.' This information is doubtful since Dickens died three years before Knight. The book does however bear the bookplate of Dicken's Library, dated 1870. Binding title reads: Memorials of a week in Scotland 1848. Bought by the Folgers, from Pearson, July 1904.
