Summary
The Earl of Essex is depicted on horseback, wearing a suit of armor and a plumed hat. Behind him stretches an area of land and sea, various portions of which are labeled: Cadiz, Roan, the Islands of Treceras, and Irelande. The English naval fleet floats on the waters off of the Islands and Cadiz. On the land closest behind Essex two groups of men armed with pikes and muskets are battling.
