Summary
Half length, almost full face, she stands, or sits, beside a window and rests her hands, one of which holds three small branches with leaves, on a ledge before her. Her hair is coiled in thick plaits round her head. On a label on the wall above her head is: Also bin ich gestalt / in achcehe jor altt. / 1497 Beneath are the arms of the Fürleger family. Through the window is a view of a fortified town on a river. Dürer's monogram is on a book held by the wooden statue in the window. -- From Pennington.
