Full figure, to left, standing, looking to right, sword in right hand. Title taken from blue pencil writing underneath drawing. Signed M. Stretch Oct. 18th, 1876.
History: A woodcut of this drawing is listed in Harv. Cat. of Dram. Ports. as no. 7 under the entry for Sullivan. It is listed as a vignette, dated 1876 and engraved by M. Stretch.
Provenance: Item was purchased by the Folgers from Sotheran in 1905.
Subject: According to DNB Sullivan was at Drury Lane in the fall of 1876 playing alternately in Richard III and Macbeth.
