Lachesis, one of the three fates. She is dressed in late 17th century garb, seated, pulling the thread of life from a spindle and winding it onto her measuring rod (which she uses to measure the length of life allotted to a person).

Two columns of verse inscribed in plate beneath image, one in Dutch and one in French.
