Summary
Divided into nine panels. Central panel depicts the proceedings of the peace conference at Breda; a highly decorated room is filled with men crowded around a table. Two long panels at the top and bottom depict the British ambassadors' procession to and from Breda. The six remaining panels, three on either side of the central image, depict lines of riflemen shooting a salvo before the Castle of Breda, the Castle of Breda by a river, another scene of the ambassadors meeting indoors, and three scenes of celebratory firework displays in the city streets.
Note
Plate was most likely etched in 1667 but this impression must be later since it was published by Joachim Ottens who was born in 1663. In Landwehr this version is referenced as state 3 of the print.
