Folger copy 80: Thirty-one complete plays (387 original leaves) in 20 volumes, each containing between one and three plays, in burgundy cloth cases with gold titling. Owned by Mr. and Mrs. Folger. Imperfect: wanting all preliminary leaves (everything before A1), and the following plays: Tempest (A1-B4) ; Two gentlemen of Verona (B4-D1) ; Merry wives of Windsor (D2-E6) ; Titus Andronicus (2c4-2e2) ; Cymbeline (2z3-3b6). Remains of a single clean copy in good condition in two unbroken sequences: F1-2C3, 2e3-2z2. The leaves are sewn together as if ready for binding (coming loose in v. 10). Manuscript notes: "Lady Day 1683" on leaf a1r (first page of King John); vertical pencil strokes marking the lines of text but not touching them on leaves 2l6-2m4 (the first five pages of Macbeth). Six of the folders contain mailing labels from Maggs to "H.C. Folger, Esq., 26 Broadway, New York," dated 28 December 1926 (moved to curatorial file). Contents: [v. 1]. Measure for measure -- [v. 2].
