Concerning the historical precedent for the union of the Scottish and English crowns, the birth and coronation of James, the virtues necessary for kingship, the Gowrie conspiracy and James' rescue by John Ramsay, James' treatise Basilikon Doron, instances of great learning among rulers, the definition of a true Christian, etc., with closing addresses to judges, scholars, merchants, the people, recusants and the King, and an "Invocatione pro patria."
