Illustrations were designed for an edition of Lamb's Tales, copyrighted 1918. Cardboard mount has "King Lear" written in the top center. The illustrations are of Lear on his throne, with Regan and Goneril nearby; the Duke of Kent (as titled in ink above drawing, presumably intended as the Earl of Kent); and Lear and the fool in the storm. The three initials feature: Ophelia in the brook; two men with lances; and a woman playing a lute. As is evidenced by Ophelia, initial letters do not necessarily illustrate scenes from Lear.
