History: Drawing is part of a series of designs done for the 'Darley gallery of Shakespearean illustration' (published in 1884) which was made up of 30 illustrations to Shakespeare's plays. This drawing, however, was never reproduced for the printed edition.
Provenance: Drawing is listed as no. 445 in S. J. Henkel's Jan, 1909 catalog. Fur further provenance information see record for Darley, F.O.C. Darley gallery of Shakespeare.
