Center plate: A horse-drawn wagon carrying three casks has broken down and the waggoner wrings his hands, while Death (represented by a skeleton) sits on a cask, and a skeleton on right bears a wheel away.--Adapted from Pennington.

Border: The same architectural frame as Pennington 233A and 233B, but the caryatids are now a bearded and winged man with an hour-glass and a scythe on left, and on right a woman holding in her hands a serpent with its tail in its mouth. At top is a draped coffin with a candle on each side; and at bottom a skeleton lying head to left with a spade and pick.--Adapted from Pennington.

This print was made with two separate plates - one for the central scene and one for the decorative border.
