Note
The last of these works, the Summario, gives instances where the Republic of Venice has granted, on her own will, the use of the Adriatic Sea to foreign powers, with entries dating from between 1121 and 1558. Most of these entries coincide with a similar list which is printed in the second book of the Venetian Joannes Palatius which was published in 1663 (De Dominio Maris) and deals, 70 years later, with the same subject.
