Scope and content
Arranged under Latin headings, with Latin and English entries, including maxims, apothegms, anecdotes and many references to Sidney's Arcadia and Defence of poesie, Camden, Plutarch's Life of Coriolanus, and Cicero. Some of the headings have no entries. Also, a series of Latin adages with English translations beginning near the end of the volume, upside-down (leaves 35-47, beginning on the verso of leaf 47).

[12], 9-89, [1] p., 3-7, [1], 8-49 leaves. Unnumbered pages 1-6 before p. 9 and leaves 45v-49v damaged affecting text; unnumbered pages 7-12 before p. 9 and leaf between leaves 7 and 8 are blank modern paper.
